4v4 plus two neutrals to end zones on 30×36 m: a team scores by passing to a team-mate who runs into the 5 m end zone and receives there under control. The neutrals (blue) play with the team in possession, so the ball side has a 6v4.

Rules

  • One neutral inside, one floating, both with the team in possession
  • Point when a team-mate arrives in the end zone on a run and controls the pass
  • After scoring, the team keeps the ball and attacks the other zone
  • 90 s rest; change the neutrals each game

To make it easier

  • Three neutrals

To make it harder

  • Reduce the end zone to two 10 m gates
  • Neutrals one touch

Coaching points

  • Width first to spread the defence
  • Time the run into the zone as the ball carrier looks up
  • Neutral always offers a safe pass back

Common mistakes

  • All four running forward at once, leaving no short option
