Terms of Use

Last updated: 25 September 2026

This is a translation provided for convenience; in case of discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails. These terms govern the use of the DorsalCUP platform (dorsalcup.com). Please read them carefully: by creating an account or using a team area, you accept them, together with the Privacy Policy.

1. What DorsalCUP is

DorsalCUP is a free platform for organising football tournaments: creating the tournament, inviting and registering teams, scheduling, recording results on the pitch, public pages and results screens.

General contact and reports: [email protected]. Privacy: [email protected].

2. Accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old to have an account. If you are between 16 and 18, you declare that you have the authorisation of the person(s) with parental responsibility.
  • The information you provide must be true. Each person is responsible for keeping access to their account secure and for the activity carried out with it, and must let us know if they suspect misuse.
  • Organisations are managed by the administrators listed in them; each administrator is responsible for the access they grant.

3. Free service

Use of the platform is free. We may show contextual advertising, without tracking cookies or profiling. We may change, suspend or discontinue features; when the change is significant, we will give reasonable advance notice.

4. Responsibility of organisers and clubs

  • The organiser is solely responsible for the tournament: rules, safety, insurance, facilities, refereeing, verification of the age and identity of players, and compliance with football association rules and the law.
  • Payments (entry fees, meals or others) do not go through the platform. The amounts shown are for information only and are agreed directly between the organiser and the clubs; DorsalCUP is not a party to those agreements.
  • Results, standings and schedules are recorded by the organisers and their match delegates. DorsalCUP does not guarantee their accuracy and is not responsible for sporting decisions.

5. Do not enter player data

The platform is not intended to store personal data of players or coaching staff (names, dates of birth, photographs, contact details, licence or identification numbers). You undertake not to enter them in any field: tournament names, notes, documents, names of officials or others. We may remove content that contains them.

6. Content you publish

  • You are responsible for what you publish (names, crests, logos, rules, texts) and you guarantee that you have the right to do so and that it does not infringe the law or the rights of third parties.
  • You grant us a free, non-exclusive licence to host and display that content solely to provide the service (including public pages, screens and sharing images), for as long as it remains on the platform.
  • The following are prohibited: illegal, offensive or discriminatory content, or content that incites hatred or violence; exposing the personal data of third parties, especially minors; unauthorised advertising; malicious software; attempting to access other people's accounts or data; overloading the service or collecting data by automated means.

7. Reports and moderation

  • Anyone can report content they consider illegal or contrary to these terms to [email protected], stating the address (URL), the reason and a contact.
  • We review reports diligently. If we remove or restrict content, we inform the author of the reason and how to challenge the decision (by replying to the same email).
  • In serious or repeated cases, the account may be suspended or closed, always with a statement of reasons.
  • Point of contact for users and authorities (Digital Services Act): [email protected], in Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, German or Italian.

8. Support access

To resolve a problem, the DorsalCUP team may access an organisation's area as support, with the reason recorded and for a maximum of 2 hours. Such access is visible to the organisation's administrators.

9. Availability

We make reasonable efforts to keep the platform available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation; there may be maintenance. We recommend that the organiser has a backup plan for tournament day and uses the available export to keep a copy of their data.

10. Limitation of liability

  • The service is free and provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DorsalCUP is not liable for indirect damage, loss of profits, loss of data, incidents occurring at tournaments, agreements between organisers and clubs, or unavailability of the service.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or the rights that the law grants to consumers and that cannot be waived.
  • If you publish content in breach of these terms, you are liable to third parties and to DorsalCUP for any resulting losses.

11. Closing your account

  • You can delete your account at any time under Account → Delete my account.
  • Accounts that have not been used for 24 months are deleted, with notice by email 30 days beforehand.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, with a statement of reasons.

12. Intellectual property

The DorsalCUP software, brand and design are protected by intellectual property rights. These terms do not grant any rights over them beyond the use of the service.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. Significant changes are announced on the platform or by email at least 15 days in advance. If you do not agree, you can delete your account; continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new version.

14. Governing law and courts

Portuguese law applies. The courts of the district of Porto have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to the rules that give consumers the right to bring proceedings before the courts of their place of residence. Consumers may also turn to a Portuguese alternative consumer dispute resolution body (list at www.consumidor.gov.pt) and the EU consumer dispute resolution bodies in your country.
