- Builders (goalkeeper, back four, two midfielders) score by finding a target at halfway or dribbling over it
- Pressers set up in a 4-4-2 with the back line behind
- Regain plus a shot within 8 seconds = two points; a goal = three
- 2 min rest between blocks
To make it harder
- Builders answer the press: goalkeeper as a third centre-back, the 6 dropping in, or going long over the press
Coaching points
- First striker curves the run to show play to one side
- Second striker screens the 6 to close the inside pass
- Winger waits between centre-back and full-back and jumps on the pass to the full-back
- Midfielders and full-back push up behind; back line steps up to stay compact (about 30–35 m)
- Agree how the back line deals with a long ball: one attacks it, one covers
Common mistakes
- Winger jumping before the pass is played, freeing the full-back down the line
- Back line staying deep and leaving a gap between units
