5v5 plus 2 with a counter-press bonus N N 35×36 m · lime lost the ball: 5 s to win it back Team A Opponent Neutral Run Press
5v5 plus two neutrals in 35×36 m. Teams score by dribbling over the opposite end line or by 10 consecutive passes. A team that wins the ball back within 5 seconds of losing it scores a bonus point, so every loss of possession triggers an immediate counter-press.

Rules

  • Neutrals on the side lines play for the team in possession
  • Score by dribbling over the opposite end line or 10 consecutive passes
  • Bonus point for winning the ball back within 5 s of losing it
  • 2 min rest; change the neutrals each block; announce regain counts per team

To make it easier

  • 6 seconds to regain and three neutrals

To make it harder

  • 4 seconds to regain; dribbling over the line within 8 s of a regain counts double

Coaching points

  • Nearest player presses at once on a line that cuts the forward pass
  • Next two close the options around the ball; the rest get compact
  • If 5 s pass without a regain, drop into a compact block
  • After a regain, first pass away from pressure, ideally forward

Common mistakes

  • Player who loses the ball stops or turns away
  • Pressing alone, so one pass beats it
